What else can you use in place of oatmilk?

Oat milk may be the new rage in all things healthful. A deliciously creamy alternative for those who are looking to lose weight, oats have been proven as an excellent source of fibre and protein with even more benefits than your average latte does not offer you!

The process starts by soaking steel-cut or whole groats which they then blend until it resembles yoghurt before straining off any extra pulp using either cheesecloth or nut milk bagging techniques depending on preference– though most people find this last step yields better results due to its creaminess coming solely from blending well enough without added ingredients like many commercial brands do today

However, if you aren’t a fan of oat milk, you can use something like almond or coconut milk in its place as a dairy-free option.  And you can always use regular milk!

Can you make it in batches?

Oats tend to go a bit slimy when they sit in liquid so it is better to make the drink up as you need it.  But you can brew the coffee in advance and let it cool down before using it to make the latte drink.

Recipe tips

You can use any type of espresso you like if you don’t have the Pike Place one.  Blonde espresso works well with the recipe as they keep the lighter colour.

Don’t worry about getting a barista blend of oat milk as you aren’t heating it up so any oatmilk will be fine.

If you find that the honey is going a little lumpy, add it then the espresso, and then add the ice.  This will let the honey melt and ensure it doesn’t sit in lumps on the bottom of the glass.
